GARVEY-TUBMAN

CULTURAL ARTS & RESEARCH CENTER

THE POWER OF ART

Children seem to be their own worst critics when they fail (in their own minds) to capture with paper and pencil what they see, and the process of self-doubt/criticism begins. This program seeks to reverse this process by providing a variety of stimuli designed to rekindle and encourage self-expression/esteem. We offer child friendly and relevant subject matter to spark children’s interest and increase knowledge retention, never losing sight that children learn best when they are engaged and entertained.

“THE ARTS TEACHES

YOUTH HOW TO LEARN.”

ART  IS  ONE  OF  THE  ONLY  THINGS  IN  LIFE  THAT YOU

CAN HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF, THINK ABOUT IT.

The Garvey / Tubman Arts Programs are based on step-by-step drawing lesson plans with a multi-sensory approach to learning that meet every child at their unique ability level. We teach drawing skills while developing visual learning skills that give youth ages 7 thru 17 an advantage in the classroom. We offer: Drawing - Cartooning – Painting – Jewelry Design – Computer Graphics – Publishing – Sculpture, etc. This program covers – Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter in eight (8) week sessions of one on one instructional attention.

Any person with hand-eye co-ordination can become an artist.
