BLACK STUDIES PROGRAM

The primary goal of the Black Studies Program is to prepare students to critically understand, conduct research, and interpret the complex histories, societies, and cultures of people of African descent in the United States, Africa and the Diaspora.  In so doing, Black Studies is a systematic way of studying black people of the world – such as their history, culture, sociology, and religion.
